Yasheni's foundation developed from a family core belief that has now been channeled into comprehensive community support. Our founders understood that keeping families together creates the strongest foundation for children's development. What started as a family-centered approach has grown into a holistic system supporting entire communities.

Milestones
2001 — First Children’s Home Opens
We renovated a modest property to provide a safe residence, daily meals, and tutoring for 35 children impacted by crisis.
2009 — Launch of Primary School
Classrooms, a library, and a community kitchen were completed, enabling blended learning on campus.
2016 — Family Strengthening Program
We added counseling, livelihood workshops, and caregiver gatherings so families can stay together and flourish.
2024 — High School Restoration Begins
Partners funded structural repairs, solar design, and new staff quarters to reopen a secondary school in 2025.

Objectives of YHMC
Community Goals
- Promote the rights of children and women through counselling, education, drama, literature, media, and recreation.
- Ensure quality health care is provided to orphans, vulnerable children, incapacitated parents, and disempowered women and youth.
- Enlist community support for children left orphaned by HIV/AIDS and TB.
- Offer school facilities, sport, and recreation to children excluded from formal education.
Skills & Sustainability
- Provide life-skills development and income-generating training to children, caregivers, and youth.
- Involve older orphans, caregivers, and women in entrepreneurship that sustains household livelihoods.
- Run arts, crafts, and environmental programmes teaching the 3Rs—reduce, reuse, recycle.
- Host scout gatherings, workshops, and outreach activities that build leadership and civic responsibility.
